# File Reader

Pull a plain-text file into context to summarize or discuss — native to Kiteworks MCP.

Calls the Kiteworks MCP read_file_contents tool directly. Reads a text-based file (.txt, .md, .csv, .json, and similar) into the conversation as UTF-8. Binary and unsupported file types are refused with a clear in-band error. Native to the Kiteworks MCP server; works today with no plugin installed.
